Transplant News

A New Opportunity to Give Back!

The Transplant Awareness Organization has recently been contacted by Trovagene, a company that is developing non-invasive tests for cancer detection. They believe that specific transplant recipients are uniquely positioned to help develop this important new technology. They are therefore looking for volunteers among transplant recipients that meet specific criteria. Volunteers who meet these criteria will be asked to provide a small number of urine samples and will be modestly compensated by Trovagene. It is important to note that Trovagene is not looking for traces of cancer in the samples provided by volunteers. Rather, they will use the samples to improve the sensitivity of their non-invasive technology, and so improve oncologists' ability both to detect and also treat certain cancers. More information can be found on page 2 of the latest TAO newsletter by clicking here.
